A new, totally innovative phototherapy technique could cure Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. Developed by experts from the University of Chalmers (Sweden) and the Technological University of Wroclaw (Poland), the multiphoton laser allows to distinguish between aggregations of proteins that cause damage (which impede normal cellular processes) and proteins that work well.
The researchers explain that they have developed a method to differentiate these structures using only laser light and without toxicities or affect the surrounding healthy tissues.
These and other innovations are now possible in Pharmamedic.
