The analgesic belongs to one of the most common groups of drugs in the world, as it is a remedy to calm or eliminate pain, be it muscle, head, arthritis, etc. They are classified as primary, secondary and coadjuvants.
Primary pain relievers have pain relief as their main action. They are applied in many types of pain. And these would be of the type:
Pure analgesics-antipyretics: paracetamol.
- Acetylsalicylic acid is administered alone or associated with various active ingredients (paracetamol, caffeine, codeine, etc.), as an analgesic in myalgia and neuralgia. Acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) and derivatives (salicylates). The oral dose for adults is 500 mg every 4 hours. It should not be administered in case of duodenal ulcer, asthma, blood coagulation problems, last weeks of pregnancy, children under 12 years old with viral infection or infants.
- Paracetamol is the set of medicines called analgesics and antipyretics. Paracetamol is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of mild to moderate pain and fever. It is not an NSAID and is the most used analgesic by mankind. The oral dose in adults is 325-650 mg every 4 hours. The oral dose for children is 20-40 mg / kg / day. It should not be administered in case of liver and / or renal failure and should not exceed 4 g daily.
