The hands are a fundamental part in the image we offer to others, and to keep them beautiful and healthy it is important to dedicate specific care.

The cuticles, which are found at the junction between the nail and the finger, should not be overlooked, as they are key in the protection of the nails.

The cuticles are formed by a layer of cells that protect the birth of the nail from external agents, such as water and various organisms, thus preventing possible infections. Its size depends on each person, and although it is normal to notice them, there are people who develop a lot of cuticle, which is annoying and unsightly.

It is recommended not to cut the cuticles, because this merely aesthetic gesture can cause infections that, although they are not very serious, can be quite annoying. Of course, that means not biting them.

By removing the cuticles we can suffer from paronychias, which are the infections that form on the skin in the area around the nails, also known as fingernails. They can also appear stepfathers, those raised skins that are often hooked with clothing and can be very painful.

The most important thing is to have them well hydrated, because we must not forget that it is skin, and in this way it will remain flexible and we will avoid the formation of stepparents and the annoying skins that appear on the fingers. Likewise, it is advisable to wear gloves when you perform household chores or use chemical products, to keep your dermis and your enamel in good condition.

Having cuticles taken care of is very simple and does not take long. You only have to have an orange stick, an instrument similar to a toothpick, but thicker and with a sharp and angled part, and a hand moisturizer. There goes the step by step to show perfect cuticles:

  • Shower to soften your cuticles, you can also submerge the nails in bowls with hot water for about 10 minutes. In the market also offers a gel cuticle or effervescent tablets to throw them in the water that softens them in the same way.
  • Then, with the angled part of an orange stick, gently push the cuticle backwards. Only if they are very developed can they be cut or pushed, but in the most superficial part, in which they are not in direct contact with the nail. If it is done, it is necessary to avoid exceeding, because you could cause a wound, and with it a possible infection. In the most difficult areas you can use the sharp part of the stick to push back the cuticle.
  • Once you have finished with all of them, you just have to hydrate them well, and for this it is enough to apply a hand cream applied by means of a massage at the base of the nail. You can also find specialized moisturizing lacquers that also act on the cuticles. This last step you can repeat it every time you wash your hands, and every night before going to sleep; apply a small amount of cream on them and spread it out, emphasizing the nails and their cuticles; You will wake up with your hands like silk.
