Currently there is a clinical test that is ingested and sends the results to the doctor via Wi-Fi. This capsule combines a mixture of living cells and very low power electronic components. It is not made from chemical synthesis, like the drugs used. It also does not aim to treat any disease. It is an exciting mix of sensors made with live cells and very low power electronic components whose mission is to detect digestive disorders, such as hemorrhages in the stomach.
At the moment, this electronic chip designed to be ingested has only been tested in pigs, but the results are very promising. In the words of Mark Mimee, one of the creators of the sensor, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), in the US, “the goal was to detect a hemorrhagic event simply by ingesting the capsule.”
These and other innovations are now possible in Pharmamedic.
