Sterile gauze

A gauze is a mesh, with more or less threads. There are meshes for this process of many types of yarns used. Cotton gauze has traditionally been used in compresses and bandages to cover and protect wounds.

The gauze has different thread structures, such as:

Monofilament, which seeks uniformity in the form and is the most used.

Multifilament: it is a braid of threads and each braid replaces a thread of the monofilament. Of great roughness, it is used in large runs; The disadvantage is that you can break a thread by sealing the screen. It is more expensive than monofilament.

Taffeta: fabric above and below, with weft (simple cross).

Sarga: there are two types of twill weave, two are woven underneath one above or two above two below (half crossed or full crossed respectively).

The gauzes are made with materials such as Nylon or polyamide: used in works in which it is necessary to adapt to the irregular surface. Very elastic material and that is a great advantage. Almost all the lines can be used. Polyester: for most fabrics. It offers a greater dimensional stability and has a high resistance to friction, although it accumulates great static electricity. It is the most used for textiles. Stainless steel: screens for exclusive use in electronics, they are fragile and difficult to use. They are used for conductive or resistive materials and inks. Antistatic: manufactured with polyester and polyamide and coated with carbon to eliminate static charge. They are very useful for plastic printing, although they are used very little. Non-woven textiles: they are wireless screens. It is a plate with perforations and is used in textile stamping or labeling and works in coils. Colored: they offer quality and fidelity. The red ones give many problems in the assembly and registration, the oranges are easier to register and the yellow ones much more, which saves time. Calendered: they are 140 threads or more, fine, and are used to print with UV drying inks. The sterile gauze is used in compresses and bandages to cover all types of wounds in order to prevent them from coming into contact with pollutants, helping their recovery.

The sterile gauze helps us cover wounds after they are washed and disinfected. Between the wound and the bandage there must always be a dressing or gauze.
